Dig your
heels in and try to stop the run of a reel burning Chinook
Salmon, the largest of the Salmon family. Put one of these
screaming bullets on the end of your 10 wt. fly rod and see
who is fighting whom. It doesn't take long to understand why
they're referred to as the "Kings". Once you have
one of these brutes drag you around you'll be hooked for life,
there is nothing like fighting a big fish on a fly rod.
Our Alaska Adventures
are 6 days 5 nights and take place mid June through July. It is
during this month and a half stretch that the Kings are in the river.
Not only are there Chinook to fish for, but also Rainbows, Grayling,
and Char, and the later in July you come the better chance of picking
up the other four species of salmon.
You
will be able to fish a variety of different styles and equipment.
You may either bring your own rods or use one of ours. We
can equip you with spinning, bait, casting, or fly rods. We
will also have a variety of flies, lures and other gear that
the various species will be feeding on. If you have never
fly fished this will be a great time to learn. Our guides
are very patient and knowledgeable as they teach the intricacies
of fly fishing.
STANDARD
ITINERARY
Fly to Anchorage the night before the trip is to begin.
Orientation that night at the hotel.
Morning flight from Lake Hood to the Headwaters.
Fish, float and get to our first nights camp.
Second, third, Fourth, and Fifth day fish, float and have
fun.
Six day, float down to the pick up point for an afternoon
flight back to Anchorage.
Freelance
Outdoor Adventures provides fully guided fishing trips. This includes
all the rafting equipment, tents, dry bags, sleeping pads, sleeping
bags, fishing equipment, and all the food you can eat. Our guides
do all the camp chores such as; camp setup and breakdown, cooking,
cleaning, along with making sure that guests are having the best
opportunity at catching fish.
